No more ringing doorbells or barking dogs as Microsoft introduces AI-based noise suppression.

Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to adjust their background noise using an AI-based feature within their Teams client. The new update will allow users to suppress noise coming from their surroundings from barking dogs, to footsteps and clicking pens or even typing on keyboards, making it easier to stay focussed during calls.

 

Teams does currently have noise suppression but the uprated new rollout will see users being able to opt for 'high' noise suppression which will effectively bring all background noises to a minimum during video calls and meetings.

Release Roadmap

 

The new release is scheduled for November 2020. The new feature will analyse users audio feeds and use Microsofts own deep neural networks to assess and reduce the excess background sound. AI will continually assess users audio feeds and automatically adjust settings to keep background noise minimised without the need for user input or adjustments.

The new update will help both meetings and online classrooms, allowing participants to fully concentrate without distractions.

As meetings continue to form part of our working day this update will ensure we have more engaged teams, more professional meetings and continue to have an enhanced user experience from Teams.

Wavenet sales kick off 2024
