Wavenet, a company dedicated to improving business communication technology, has announced that it now offers 5G support as part of its Business Mobile services. With 5G rolling out across the UK, Wavenet is offering businesses a host of services to keep their tariffs down and avoid “shock bills.”
Wavenet positions itself as a telecom support agency which helps businesses control their communication spend. The company, however, is keen to show existing and new clients that it is delivering on its promise to keep up with the latest developments in the fast-paced mobile communication industry.
One of the goals of the latest line of services from the company is to remove mobile bill-shock. UK firms need to provide and pay for work mobiles so that their employees can carry out their work efficiently. Wavenet, however, discovered that many businesses needed a service which could help them cap monthly staff mobile spend, preventing outsized bills. The company set about introducing technology that operated on a per-SIM basis, letting IT managers set limits on usage. This service meant that business customers could enjoy both lower costs and peace of mind. Now Wavenet says that it’s updated its technology to apply to new 5G tariffs on the market too.
The development of mobile communication technology progressed rapidly between 1980 and the present. During the 1980s, mobiles communicated with each other using analogue voice. Analogue voice was first-generation, or 1G, mobile technology and prone to issues. In the 1990s, mobile network providers switched to “digital voice” or 2G. Mobile devices converted analogue voice input into digital ones and zeroes and then sent that over the airwaves to its destination. Calls became crisper and more reliable, especially in rural locations.
3G connectivity arrived in the early 2000s. For the first time, business mobile users could send and receive data between 5 and 15 Mbit/sec, allowing users to access information like the weather or their emails. 4G mobile broadband opened up the internet to an even greater extent, enabling users to experience not only basic internet services but also high bandwidth media, such as videos.
5G promises to evolve the technology once more, providing connection speeds of 1 to 10 Gbit/sec and facilitating IoT expansion. Wavenet’s goal is to help businesses take advantage of new technology as it becomes available through a range of services, including dedicated mobile support. The company says that business customers can ring its customer service reps whenever they wish and get help troubleshooting problems.
Wavenet also uses “network agnostic” technology, which allows business users to switch between network carriers depending on their location in the UK. If an employee cannot get a signal from one network, then Wavenet will automatically switch them over to another.
Finally, Wavenet’s shared data bundles for businesses on multi-person 5G contracts promise to reduce the likelihood of large, unexpected bills. Its packages allow companies to pool their data usage into a single agreement, reducing the risk of overspend by any individual team member. 5G is here, and Wavenet is ready.
