Which Wi-Fi network is the right one to connect to?

Wavenet Connected sets up secure Wi-Fi networks in the buildings we support.


When you're getting connected to Wi-Fi you might see a range of names for networks that you can connect to.

Here are some of the common ones and their purpose.

Dot11

This is the most common name for the primary Wi-Fi network delivering our Open Secure Wireless Access (OSWA) the enterprise grade service where your building benefits from building wide Wi-Fi. Typically, this is used for your devices such as computers, laptops, mobiles and tablets.

If you're in a building with a different name for your primary Wi-Fi network, your Customer Experience Manager or Centre Manager will be able to help.

Dot11 - Guest

This is the common name for the Wi-FI network for visitors. The network typically has time limited access enabled.

Printers

Used for the connection of printers, TV’s, Music Streamers, and any other Wi-Fi enabled devices.  Speak to your account admin or our support team if you need to connect a device connected to this network as individual passwords are needed.

Meeting Rooms

This networks is set up for Meeting rooms. Non-residents will be given a password by the centre manager to enable them to connect.

Other

Other network names you might discover when you scan using a device are not typically Wavenet  Connected supported.
